Fee Schedule & Payment Policies

General Policy:

All course hours and associated fees must be paid in full prior to the issuance of any state completion documents or certificates.

Refund Policy:

Wreck-Less Driving Academy does not offer refunds once a payment has been processed.

Program Fees -effective 8/30/2026:

Full Program:

1. Full Program (Classroom & BTW) $  -see below for discount and payment plan options.

•  What's included: 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours behind-the-wheel instruction.

• $560 Payable to Wreck-Less Driving Academy when registering​

  • Special request payment plan option available; contact info@wreck-lessdriving.com to set up

    • $200 to be paid at classroom registration, $380 to be paid at or before the first behind-the-wheel session. 

    • $380 may be split between the 1st and 2nd drive as $190 before drive #1 and $190 before drive #2.

• Note payment plan on the registration form and if the payment of $390 should be split.

• Payment plans must be paid via invoice, our driver's do not take payments.

2. Community Education Program:

• We offer courses in partnership with Monticello Community Ed and Big Lake Community Ed.

• While registration is facilitated through our office, all prices and policies remain identical to the Full Program listed above.

3. Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) Only Program:

• What's Included: 6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel training only. ~three, two-hour lessons spread out over a minimum of four months

  • *This package does not include the 30-hour classroom instruction required to obtain a permit.

• Total Cost: $480

• This is the next step for any student who has taken the 30-hour class only and now needs to register with a driving school in order to receive documentation to take their permit test.

  • The student must be registered for a BTW program, they do not need to have their drives scheduled at this time.

• Students transferring to our school who current hold a valid permit will still need to provide a classroom completion letter.

  • This transfers the student to our program.

• Prerequisite: Students under 18, or those transferring from another school, must provide a course completion documentation on letterhead from the original school.

  • A blue card, electronic blue card, receipt or permit will not suffice. 

• Email our office to request BTW only registration forms and welcome information.

• Payment Plan Option (confirm with office, then note on registration form):

  • $240 due at registration &  $240 due before the second BTW session

• Our instructors do not take payment, all payments must be processed or arranged before driving.

4. Supplementary BTW Drives

• Availability: For students over 18 or for any student requesting additional practice beyond the standard 6-hour package. 

  • All students under 18 are required by the State of MN to complete a six hour BTW program.

• Rate: $160 per hour, with a 2-hour minimum per session.

Other Policies & Fees

Cancellation & No-Show Policy: A $75 fee will be assessed for any Behind-the-Wheel session under the following circumstances:

• The student is not at the designated pickup location at the scheduled time.

• Failure to provide at least a 24-hour notice for cancellation.

  • For illness or emergency, please notify us via email or text at 763-567-2727 as soon as possible.

• Failure to produce a valid Minnesota Instruction Permit at the time of the lesson.

• Student arrives wearing improper footwear (flip-flops or open-toed sandals), rendering them unable to drive.

This fee must be paid in full before any subsequent drives can be scheduled.

Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF): A $40 fee will be charged for any returned check.

Contract Expiration & Renewal

• All paid services must be utilized within 18 months of the date of registration.

• Any unused drives or fees will be forfeited after these 18 months.

• Contract Renewal: A lapsed contract may be renewed for a period of 6 months for a $75 renewal fee, plus the difference between the original contract price and any current prevailing rates.
